News from the Greens Club

As you all know, Mother Nature has been kind to us golfers this fall and even allowed us to golf into the month of December.  As a result of that nice weather, we had a fall clean-up the day before Thanksgiving.

The purpose of the day was to try to mulch and mow up as many of the fallen leaves as possible to make the spring work days a little bit easier.  Thanks to the efforts of Kirk Abrahamson, John Ojala, Fred Cyr and the volunteers, we had a very successful day. A special thanks to Steve Lulek and Al Roberge who spent several hours just riding and mulching the leaves.  Steve used the rented mower we got for the day, but Al used his own personal mower and did a fantastic job in the two days he worked getting the course ready for the spring.

So if you played at all recently you should have not lost too may balls, thanks to them and the other volunteers.

The changeover to the new checking account with Heritage Family Credit Union is finally complete.  All the checks to the raffle winners have been distributed and money has been disbursed.  We sold a total of 197 tickets this year, paid out $1200.00 to weekly winners and $2300.00 to the lucky winners in the final drawing.

We spent about $4900.00 in various projects throughout the course of the summer, as you all have seen.  At he present time, there is a balance of $143.00 in the checking account.  If anyone would like a complete listing of all the expenditures, please let me know.  If anyone has any ideas for project for next year, give one of us a call and we will put it on our list to discuss at our next meeting.  Our goal for next year is to sell over 200 tickets.  We thank everyone for their support this year, and during the 18 years since the Greens Club began back in 1997.

We also would like to welcome our newest member who is Donna Williams.  She has spent many hours as a volunteer working on the flowers and plants.  She plays often, and helps out when she can.  We look forward to working with her next year.  And as always, we are looking for a few new members to work on the committee so please let us know if you would like to join us and have a great winter. We will see you all in the spring.
