News From the Barn - 4/9/25

On behalf of the jovial and friendly maintenance staff, I would like to welcome everyone back for the upcoming golf season!

Once again, Pete Conway has done a fantastic job with removing trees that were either dead or a detriment to the course. Our goal isn't to remove all trees, just the ones that prevent sunlight and air flow.

The course came through in pretty good condition.  Any winter damage you see is very temporary and will go away with warmer temperatures. We have done some work on tees out back, over seeding in an attempt to prevent further damage.

I am thrilled with how clean the course is.  This is a result of Al Roberage and his crew of hard-working volunteers. The work they did allowed workday to finish clean up and puts us in a great starting position.  Our membership is unique in the way it volunteers. It makes a big difference!

The big remaining question is when will the greens get top dressed? Leaving partial aeration holes allows us to only aerate once a year.  As soon as we get some consistent weather of 60 degree days it will be done. The other option is to aerate in May and September.

Have a great season and try to smile a couple times a day.
