Our 18-hole course stretches 6,048 yards from the back tees and plays to a par of 70, with a course rating of 68.9 and a slope of 116. Originally opened in 1928 as a nine-hole layout and expanded to 18 holes in 1989, the course blends classic design with thoughtful updates that keep play enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels.
With four sets of tee boxes, players can choose a yardage that fits their game. Sixty-one well-placed sand bunkers add interest without being overwhelming, while carefully maintained greens reward good shots and encourage confident putting. The layout is straightforward and fair, making it easy to walk, pleasant to play, and inviting for both first-time visitors and longtime members.

A Toast to Four Decades on the Course
Honoring John Ojala & Kirk Abrahamson
At the end of this season, Proctor Pittsford Country Club will say goodbye to two men who have shaped this club for nearly forty years — John Ojala and Kirk Abrahamson.
Both John and Kirk got their start the same way: part-time, back in 1988. John began in the pro shop, and Kirk began on the grounds crew. Neither could have known then that they were putting down roots that would grow into decades of dedication.
John worked his way up to become Manager in 1991, and for over thirty years he's been the steady hand behind the scenes — the person members could count on, the one who kept the club running smoothly through every season, every event, and every challenge along the way. His leadership has left a mark on this club that will long outlast his time behind the desk. John will continue to serve the club as Treasurer on the Board of Directors, and he'll even be found working part-time in the pro shop — so this is not quite a goodbye to him — more a well-deserved step back.
Kirk rose from the grounds crew to Superintendent in 2016, and since then, the fairways and greens of Proctor Pittsford have borne his signature. Anyone who's walked this course knows the quiet artistry it takes to keep it playing beautifully through New England's unpredictable seasons — early mornings, long summers, and the kind of care that doesn't show up in a scorecard but shows up in every round played.
Together, John and Kirk represent something increasingly rare: a lifetime of commitment to one place, one community, one club. From part-timers in 1988 to the leaders who guided Proctor Pittsford for a combined seven-plus decades, their fingerprints are on every corner of this course — from the clubhouse to the 18th green.
As they close this chapter, the membership, staff, and everyone who has ever enjoyed a round at Proctor Pittsford owe them a debt of gratitude. Thank you, John and Kirk, for your years of service, your dedication, and the countless ways you made this club feel like home — and we're glad John's steady hand will remain with us at the Board table.
