Final News From The Barn - Kirk Abrahamson

So many people to thank and wish well. First, thank you so much to the ladies of PPCC who bought me a beautiful wool winter coat.  Bampy should be toasty warm when I am building a snow man with the grand kids this winter.

A big thanks to my crews, past and present. If there was one thing I did well, it was surrounding myself with smart, reliable people.  I allowed them to do their jobs without mico managing them. Managing creative, driven personalities isn't always easy, but I guess that's where I earned my check.

A huge shout out to the many volunteers at this course.  I can't say enough about this membership.  When you have a hundred people show up for work day, that's just special, and as I write this it makes me tear up.

Finally, the two most important people I worked with.  First, John Ojala who also is retiring and in his usual fashion has quietly gone about his business while all the attention has gone to me.

Everyone knows we have been best friends since childhood, however, business is business and I always understood I worked for the board.  There were a few occasions where he had to remind me of that.  I am very replaceable, but John oversees the whole operation, and is the reason the club is in a great position going forward.

My final thanks goes out to Gary Gallus. Because I have been here daily for the past 39 years,  I think I am qualified to say that Gary was, is, and always will be the most important person in the history of PPCC.

 See you on the course,

 Kirk
