News From The Barn - 7/26/25

The summer heat and heavy play continues to beat the course up. All I can say is that I am proud of the crew for continuing to battle the conditions daily.  Early morning and late afternoon golfers mean very early mornings and late evenings for us.

I think most members understand the limitations of our watering system. This relentless heat can lead to some turmoil down at the barn.

Last week the spray technician and the employee who changes the pins were in a heated argument in front of the barn.  Apparently, the spray tech hadn't gone wide enough around the greens which allowed some dollar spot to creep into some of the green surrounds.  Just as the argument was about to get ugly, Chad Fox walked around the corner and said "Hey boss who are you yelling at, there is nobody around."

On the lighter side, new member Kim Moore had been a member for 7 hours, 13 minutes and 12 seconds before lodging her first complaint.   Evidently, the bunkers here at PPCC aren't as fluffy as they are in Florida. Lucky for Kim, she is a fantastic cook and has been able to feed me enough to get her off the superintendents' nemesis list.

Don't forget to smile a couple times a day.
