News from the Women's Sports Committee-August 2016
The ladies kicked off the month of August in style with our Member Guest Tournament. The theme, "Play Like an Olympian" brought everyone out dressed in the bright colors of the Olympic Rings. Set off against the amazing blue skies over PPCC, it was quite a sight.
Eighteen holes later, Allie Wolf and Chloe Levins prevailed as overall champions winning low gross in the Gold bracket. Lynn Colomb and partner Janet Hayden won the Silver bracket, and Bonnie Capowki and Joan King were the Bronze winners. Check the tournament results page for a list of all of our winners!
The Sports committee would like to thank the staff of Garafano's for their fabulous work on the decorations, as well as the great meal the participants were treated to. Also thanks to Reggie Colomb and John Ojala for doing the scoring, Pat McGee for the photos that are on display in the ladies locker room and the many ladies who helped out with ticket sales and getting the sponsor signs out!
Speaking of sponsors, a list of 2016 hole sponsors is posted in the locker room. Please take the time to check it out and thank these folks by doing business with them. Thanks also to everyone who donated raffle gifts-this is also posted in the locker room.
We hope everyone's golf game is peaking just in time for this weekend when the Club Championship will be held. Good luck to all of the participants!
Ladies nights and weekend play continue to be well attended, but sadly we have only two more weeks of group play. These are the last chances to earn points toward our newest honor-Queen of Clubs. We will be crowning the first Queen at our annual banquet on September 14th! We hope to see all of our members there.
Even though our formal activities are winding down, we encourage everyone to stay in touch and keep getting out to enjoy our beautiful course. Surely PPCC will be sporting some beautiful colors in the weeks to come! Here's hoping there's a lot more golf to play...
