News from the Greens Club, April 2016

First, we would like to thank everyone for the great response to the Greens Club campaign for 2016, as 195 tickets have already been purchased towards our goal of 250 tickets. This means we have $3900.00 to use for course improvement projects and many have already been completed. These include:

* Purchased 4 tons of green divot mix for repairs to the tee areas and fairways.

* Rented DR mower(brush-hogger) which was used on clean-up day to clear cut areas between the 2nd and 16th fairways and also in the triangle by the 11th and 15th greens.

* Spread new mulch in areas by the main gate, Garafano sign and enclosed landscaped areas by #2, #3, and #10, this mulch was donated by Skip Pratico and he also repaired the damaged fence from last years fallen tree.

* Replaced all the damaged and worn out signs throughout the course and added new scorecard holder for the second tee.

* Repainted and stained red and white stakes, benches, birdhouses and posts. Will be repainting parking lot lines in the future and also the water cooler storage units.

* Removed all the old divot boxes and most of the remaining flower boxes. New marble flower boxes are being made by Frank Beyette as time permits from marble he donated.

* Replaced 3 broken or aged ball washers and will be providing  new green garbage cans with PPCC vinyl logos to freshen up the course.

* Repaired damage to scoreboard with new vinyl wood to prevent future problems. Labor provided by member Ed Casella. Will be adding new signs to the scoreboard to replace old, faded ones.

Any future course improvement projects are always welcomed.

Tickets are still on sale and will be sold right up to the final drawing in September. Our first drawing will be May 12th at Men's Night for $100.00. They are available at the pro shop, from any Greens Club member, and on-line through the website using Paypal. Our next meeting is Tuesday April 26th at the club if anyone is interested in joining the committee.

Once again we thank you for your support as we all work together to make Proctor-Pittsford one of the best clubs in Vermont.
